What is the capacity of the different Defender systems?
The 1-Stage is rated for 400,000L, the 2-Stage is rated for 800,000L, and the 4-Stage is rated for 1,600,000L.
How do I know which Defender system is right for my family?
As a general guideline, we typically recommend:
1–2 people: 1-Stage
3–4 people: 2-Stage
5+ people: 4-Stage
This gives us a strong starting point, which we can then tailor based on your home and usage patterns.
When will I know it’s time to replace my filters?
We will notify you when it is time to replace them. Your replacement cadence is tailored based on your home size, the number of people in the home, and your overall water usage habits, so the timing is aligned with your household’s actual needs.
How do you determine the replacement cadence?
By using an industry standard formula of 250L per day, per person, multiplied by the number of people in the home. From there, we compare that estimated household usage to the capacity of the system and recommend a system designed to fall within an approximate two-year replacement cadence. If your home or water usage calls for a different timeline, we tailor the recommendation accordingly.
Do you offer installation?
We work with a trusted network of plumbing partners across Canada and can help coordinate installation for you. Our partners are familiar with our systems and can ensure the installation is completed smoothly and correctly.
Where available, we handle the coordination process and help connect you with the right installer for your area.
Can my own plumber install the system?
Yes. Any licensed plumber could install the system with ease.
It is a straightforward installation that can typically be completed in around one hour, and we provide detailed installation guides and manuals to make the process seamless from start to finish.
How are replacements done, and do they require a plumber?
Replacement is designed to be simple and homeowner-friendly. In most cases, cartridge replacements are DIY and can be completed in under five minutes.
A plumber is not required for standard replacement, and we also provide a detailed step-by-step guide to make the process as easy as possible.
