1. About This Policy
This document informs you about the technologies that help this website work and improve. These technologies allow us — or a third party acting on our behalf — to access and store information on your device, or to use resources on it, as you browse.
For simplicity, all of these are referred to as “trackers” in this document unless there is a reason to distinguish between them. Cookies are one kind of tracker: a small text file placed in your browser. Others include pixels, local storage, and session storage, which behave similarly but are stored differently.
Some purposes require your consent, depending on where you are. Where consent is required, you can withdraw it at any time using the instructions in section 6.
This website uses trackers we manage directly (“first-party”) and trackers that enable services run by third parties (“third-party”). Lifetimes vary by provider; the durations below were measured on a live visit to this site and are accurate as of the date above.
2. Necessary
These are strictly necessary to operate the site and deliver what you have asked for. They cannot be switched off, and on their own they are not used for advertising.
2.1 Managed directly by Purely Solutions
- cookie.consent — records your cookie preferences so we do not ask again. Set only once you make a choice. Lifetime: 1 year.
- purely:cartId — browser local storage. Remembers your cart between visits so items are not lost when you close the tab. Persists until cleared.
2.2 Managed by third parties
- Shopify (Shopify Inc.) — operates our cart and checkout. Shopify sets its own cookies on the checkout domain to hold your basket, process payment, and prevent fraud. See Shopify’s privacy policy for details.
3. Measurement
These help us understand how the site is used — which pages are read, where people get stuck, what is broken — so we can improve it. They are not used to target advertising.
3.1 Managed by third parties
- Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) — aggregate traffic and behaviour reporting. Cookies: _ga, _ga_FNFBV2VB53. Lifetime: 1 year.
- Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) — anonymized heatmaps and session replay, used to find usability problems. Cookies: _clck (1 year), _clsk (1 day).
4. Marketing
These let us measure whether our advertising works, and show relevant ads to people who have visited us. This is the category most people mean when they talk about being “tracked”, and it is the one you are most likely to want to control.
4.1 Managed directly by Purely Solutions
- purely_xid, purely_xid_h — a randomly generated first-party visitor identifier, used to connect a later purchase to an earlier visit so we can tell which ads actually work. It contains no name, email, or other personal detail. Lifetime: 90 days.
- purely_fbc, purely:fbc — stores the click identifier from a Meta ad so the resulting order can be attributed to it. Lifetime: 90 days.
- purely_ab_arm — session storage. Records which version of a product page you landed on while we are testing two designs, so results can be compared. Cleared when you close the tab.
- purely:utm:* — session storage. Remembers where your visit came from (campaign, source, referrer) so a purchase is credited to the right channel. Cleared when you close the tab.
4.2 Managed by third parties
- Meta Pixel and Conversions API (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — measures the performance of our Facebook and Instagram advertising, and supports remarketing. Cookies: _fbp, _fbc. Lifetime: 90 days. Events are also sent from our server, which is why some measurement continues even when browser tracking is blocked.
- Google Ads (Google LLC) — conversion measurement for our Google advertising. Cookie: _gcl_au. Lifetime: 90 days.
- Bixgrow (Bixgrow) — affiliate and referral attribution — credits a partner when someone they referred places an order. Cookies: bgvisitor_id, bgaffilite_id, bgclick_id, bggroups, bglast_click, bgexpire_time. Set only if you arrive through an affiliate link; lifetime is set by the affiliate programme.
5. Trackers That Do Not Fit the Above
Some technologies serve more than one purpose, or sit between categories.
- Klaviyo (Klaviyo, Inc.) — where you have subscribed, supports our email programme and connects your interest on the site to the messages you receive. Only relevant to subscribers.
6. How to Manage Your Preferences
Where a cookie banner is shown, you can choose “Accept all” or “Essential only”. Your choice is stored for one year, and you can change it at any time by clearing the cookie.consent cookie in your browser, after which the banner will appear again on your next visit.
Please note that if you choose “Essential only”, measurement and marketing technologies will not load. That is a legitimate choice and the site will work normally — but some of the reporting that helps us improve it will be missing.
For third-party trackers, you can also use the opt-out link provided by the relevant provider, follow the instructions in their own privacy policy, or contact them directly.
7. Controlling Cookies Through Your Browser
Your browser lets you see which cookies have been set on your device, block them, and clear them. Browser settings do not, however, allow control by category the way a consent banner does — it is all or nothing.
Instructions for the most common browsers are published by their makers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera each document this in their help centres.
On mobile, you can also limit certain categories through your device settings — look for the advertising or tracking options in your privacy settings.
8. Opting Out of Interest-Based Advertising
Beyond the controls above, industry programmes let you set advertising preferences across many companies at once:
- Canada — the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada (DAAC) AdChoices programme.
- United States — the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) and the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA).
- EU and UK — YourOnlineChoices.
The Digital Advertising Alliance also offers an app, AppChoices, for controlling interest-based advertising inside mobile apps.
9. If You Refuse Trackers
You are free to decide whether to allow trackers. Refusing measurement and marketing trackers will not stop you browsing, adding to cart, or ordering — none of those depend on them.
What it does change is our side: we lose the ability to see which pages help, which ads brought you here, and where the experience breaks. Necessary trackers cannot be refused through the banner, because without them the cart and checkout cannot function.
